Attic ventilation evaluation & improvements

A well-ventilated attic moves hot air out instead of letting it build up, which matters for comfort in the rooms below and for the roof deck itself.

Signs of poor ventilation

Heat and moisture that has nowhere to go

  • Attic feels extremely hot even relative to Texas summer heat
  • Musty odors or signs of condensation in the attic
  • Soffit vents that are blocked or covered by insulation
  • No visible ridge, gable, or static vents on the roof
  • Uneven shingle wear that may point to attic heat buildup

Intake and exhaust, balanced

Ventilation is a system, not a single vent

Attic ventilation works by pairing intake (usually at the soffits) with exhaust (usually at the ridge or gable), so air actually moves through the space instead of stagnating. One without the other doesn't do much — intake without exhaust, or exhaust without intake, can even work against you.

We evaluate your current intake and exhaust ventilation during the inspection and recommend improvements only where the balance is actually off.
